Future Wellness Academy

A specification is only as good as the team holding it

Why it exists

Future Wellness Academy is the education arm of the group. It exists because the other three rungs fail at exactly the same point, and it is not the point most people expect.

Diligence decides what belongs in a facility. Specification decides how the space performs. Neither survives contact with a member, guest or patient if the person standing in front of them cannot say why it works, and cannot adapt it when the individual does not match the population the protocol was built on.

Courses are authored mechanism first, assessed rather than attended, and licensed per seat or into a partner's own platform. Funding comes from seats rather than from suppliers, which keeps the independence firewall intact all the way down. Delivery partners license the curriculum. They do not own it.

The Diploma

Professional Diploma in Human Wellness Science

A postgraduate-level qualification for practitioners and leaders who work across sleep, circadian health, nervous system regulation, recovery, nutrition and environmental design, rather than in one of them.

Traditional qualifications separate these domains and teach them as isolated specialisms. A client does not arrive with an isolated specialism. They arrive with disrupted sleep, a recovery deficit, cognitive fatigue and an environment working against all three at once, and the practitioner has to hold the interactions in view.

The programme is delivered entirely online, structured around twelve domains, and assessed rather than attended. It combines structured teaching with mentored application, so a graduate leaves with frameworks and assessment tools that survive contact with real clients, guests and teams.

A practitioner who cannot explain the mechanism cannot adapt the protocol, and a protocol that cannot be adapted is the wrong one for most of the people it meets.

Curriculum

Twelve domains, taught as one system

The domains are ordered but not independent. Each one is taught with its mechanism first, its evidence base stated at the strength the evidence actually holds, and its limits marked, including the point at which an intervention leaves a coaching scope and belongs with a clinician.

01Sleep optimisation
Circadian entrainment and sleep architecture, and the environmental levers that move both. Light at the eye, temperature, and timing.
02Nutrition and micronutrient balance
Nutrient timing, hydration and supplementation set against biological rhythm rather than against preference.
03Stress and nervous system regulation
Identifying autonomic load, and the interventions that measurably shift it rather than the ones that feel restorative.
04Physical activity
Programming strength, mobility and endurance, with training timed against recovery capacity instead of against the calendar.
05Recovery and regeneration
Dose, sequencing and contraindication across thermal, compression and immersion modalities, and what each one does not do.
06Community and social connection
Group design and adherence, treated as a measurable variable rather than a soft one.
07Hormonal balance
Endocrine patterns, the lifestyle levers that act on them, and the boundary where the work belongs with a clinician.
08Breathing and oxygen utilisation
Assessing breathing pattern, and the interventions that change CO₂ tolerance and autonomic state.
09Environment and habit
Auditing light, temperature, air and acoustics in a real room, then correcting them. The same measures the specification work uses.
10Data-driven personalisation
Reading wearable and biometric data, including how to recognise when the data does not support the conclusion being drawn from it.
11Cognitive performance
Neurotransmitter systems, cognitive load, and the recovery of attention across a working day.
12Financial wellness
Financial instability as a chronic stress input, and its interaction with sleep, recovery and health behaviour.
Who it is for

Practitioners and the people who build the systems around them

The programme assumes an existing professional foundation. It is written for people already working with clients, guests, athletes or staff, who need applied science and a delivery system rather than an introduction.

Practitioners
Health and wellness coaches working in behaviour change, sleep, stress and recovery
Personal trainers and strength and conditioning coaches
Performance staff in sport, tactical and other high-demand occupations
Nutrition coaches working within a non-clinical scope
Breathwork, recovery and mind-body practitioners who want firmer biological grounding
Physiotherapists, osteopaths and allied health practitioners integrating performance and lifestyle work within their own scope
Operations and leadership
Spa and wellness directors, wellness managers and hotel operations leaders
Corporate wellbeing leads and people performance teams
Clinic and studio owners raising the standard of service delivery
Programme and product designers in wellness and performance brands
Who it is not for

Clinicians looking for diagnostic or treatment protocols. The programme can support that work, but it is education and coaching practice, not medical guidance. It is also not an entry point for those with no baseline in practice.

Who teaches it

The curriculum is taught by the person who writes the specifications, not by a training department working from them.

Twenty-five years in performance coaching and education, working with elite athletes, coaches and the operators who build the facilities they train in. Live sessions are taught against current engagements, so the case discussed on a Tuesday evening is usually a room being measured that month.

Where a verdict in the syllabus changes because the evidence changed, it is taught as a change, with the reason and the date attached.

Delivery
Weekly live teaching sessions, recorded for playback
Interactive seminars and case discussion
Assessment models, frameworks and consultation tools
Self-paced assignments and reflective tasks
Optional in-person immersion events and workshops
Entry

Participants typically hold a degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in health, human performance, hospitality or behavioural science, or three to five years of professional experience in a related field.

The programme operates at RQF and Ofqual Level 6 to 7 equivalence, aligning with final-year undergraduate and postgraduate diploma standards under the European Qualifications Framework. Learners are expected to demonstrate critical thinking, systems integration and applied evidence-based reasoning throughout.

Prior study in human biology, psychology, coaching or health science is recommended but not required. If a background is borderline, we will say so before enrolment rather than after it.

Foundations of Evidence-Based Wellness Practice

A seven-week course in judging evidence, telling clients the truth about it, and knowing where your role ends. It starts on Monday 11 January 2027.

Every practitioner meets the same wall. A client arrives holding something they read, heard on a podcast, or bought on a recommendation. They are certain about it. You are not, and you have about four seconds to decide what to say. Agreeing is dishonest. Correcting them accurately, immediately, in a way that makes them feel foolish, is honest and it does not work. There is a third option, it is teachable, and almost nobody teaches it.

Foundations is method-led rather than content-led. It teaches the reasoning underneath the twelve domains rather than teaching the domains themselves, which is why it works as the on-ramp to the diploma and equally well for a practitioner who never takes one.

The seven weeks

Named weeks, not numbered ones

One lesson is released each Monday. Each week is built around three to four hours of work, split however suits the week you are actually having, with one live group session at the midpoint that is recorded.

00How this programme is learned
Free. How to study so it stays, and why learning styles are the first thing to unlearn.
01The HPO model and the shared language
The framework that organises the whole curriculum, and the eight words that unlock it.
02What counts as evidence
Study designs, effect size, and a six-question method for any claim.
03Disseminating evidence
How to tell a client the truth without losing them.
04The practitioner role
Scope, referral, safeguarding, and the boundary that defines the job.
05The daily inputs
Sleep, nutrition, activity and recovery as one loop, plus a structured intake conversation.
06The internal regulators
Stress, breathing, hormones and cognition, and what can honestly be measured.
07Context and measurement
Community, environment, data and money, plus how to read a client’s wearable.

A course that skimmed twelve domains in seven weeks would teach you nothing, and I would rather say so now than in week six.

What you keep

Seven documents, written by you during the course, in the form you will actually use them.

Your HPO map, showing which domains you over-use and which you have never asked about
Your appraisal sheet, the six questions in your own words
Your claim-handling script, the actual sentences for four difficult conversations
Your practice pack: scope statement, referral list of real named services, consent form, records standard
Your intake script, an eight-area opening conversation you can run from the first week
Your regulation protocol, one practice you can safely deliver in the room
Your data reading sheet, four rules for a client’s wearable data
What it is not

This is not a qualification and it does not make anyone a practitioner. It is not a shallow pass over twelve subjects. And it is not the diploma. It is the thing that makes the diploma make sense.

Access stays open after the course ends. The only fixed date is the submission deadline, because the closing conversations run to a schedule. Every submission is read and marked personally, and the closing conversation is thirty minutes on the piece of written work you submit, including an honest view on whether postgraduate study is the right next step for you.

The credit

If you go on to enrol in the Professional Diploma for the March 2027 intake, the whole four hundred pounds comes off your enrolment. Not a discount code and not a partial credit. The whole fee.

Foundations is a preparatory course. It does not confer practitioner status or any regulated qualification, and it carries no regulated level. Participants receive a certificate of completion. The Future Wellness Academy is an independent provider and is not Ofqual-regulated.
